Giving Thanks

Bayombong meeting

I just want to give thanks to the people who have been working, going out of their way to make the batch reunion and batch fund raising possible. Many thanks goes to the people in Bayombong.

* Those who attended all/some of the reunions and meetings and donated some money, your support made a big difference.
* Those who were not there but were able to donate to the pot, their donation helped some classmates in need.
* Those who were not able to donate but attended the reunion(s) and/or meetings, their presense meant a lot.

Have I missed anyone? Please let me know.

Why do we have a batch fund? Why should I give money? I won't be there to attend the parties anyway.
For those who do not know yet, the batch fund has a purpose. It is not to fund the yearly parties we have in Bayombong, although I know the money would help, it is to help our less fortunate batchmates who have family members die, batchmates who are in prison or in some kind of trouble with the law, batchmates who are sick and can't afford to buy medication. This isn't mandatory, this isn't an obligation. You may or may not give, it's all up to you. But if you give or have given, the money is kept safe in a bank account. The account holders withdraw only when necessary.

I wish I could give money but I'm strapped for cash right now. How else can I help?
Fiona has created a blog for the batch to announce of updates, news bits, photos, and more. We need more content on the site, maybe some of you could help post articles, stories, etc. Just submit your articles to Fiona, Puwede English, Tagalog, Ilocano. We need more and more people to visit and read the articles on the site.
Everytime someone visits the site, it creates and impression. The more impressions it creates, the greater the chances for the blog to make money. Yes, you read that right, the blog is an income generating machine, Fiona's own way of helping out economically. Also, if people click on links and download stuff from the blog like Firefox and Picasa (photo organizer), the website makes sure money!

Ay! Paano yan? I don't know how to write. Tamad ako mag sulat. Wala akong time. Wala akong computer/internet.
You can still help by spreading the news around. Or you can help by informing our other batchmates of our project. Btw we have two projects: the batch fund and the grand 25th anniversary reunion. Kung may alam kang batchmate na di pa alam ito, inform him or her. Get his/her contact details then give it to our officers.
You can also help by thinking of ways to raise money or ideas for a fund raising event.
Dun sa mahilig mag text, ikaw na mag text brigade sa batchmates natin!

There are a lot of ways to help, not just with money. Kung may ideas pa kayo, sabihin nyo lang.

Btw, special thanks goes to Rebecca Ramos for the kind gesture she did. Same goes to Noreen Babaran who has been bugging the people in the US, coordinating with the people in the Philippines. Also to Francis Dela Cruz for visiting the site and leaving a msg in the shoutbox.

Guys, let's make 2009 a memorable year for our batch!

Thanks everyone!
